This course is in two parts: an introductory talk about podcasting, its challenges, and its joys; and a workshop where the podcasting ideas of audience members are discussed in a positive, constructive, and helpful way. Course members will be given a solid and realistic plan of action, specific resources to get started in the podcast world, and useful links and connections to help assure success. The ideal audience is people who have thought about starting a podcast but don't know where to begin or how to succeed.
The introductory talk explains the difficulties and dangers of getting into podcasting without good preparation, explains the importance of being a "subject matter expert," and how to pitch their show to the right audience. The workshop goes through the main feature of the participants' podcasting ideas, offers constructive advice and criticism, and crafts an individual action plan for each course member.
