Many people believe they have a book in them, but allow themselves to put off a writing dream for reasons from "I'm no good" to "my friends/family won't take me seriously." National Novel Writing Month (or NaNoWriMo) says none of that matters, and you CAN write a novel. Join for free, and in November you'll be encouraged from a worldwide community of people to go to places in fiction you never thought possible.

It is possible, but make no mistake; it's a lot of work. It comes down to 1667 words per day in November, and people often struggle with self-doubt, comparing themselves to others, and what to do about that big American travel holiday at the end of the month? This class will help you prepare for the month: what tools to gather, how to outline your project, and even how to deal with skeptics (and how to make new friends that join you in your journey!)

Mur Lafferty is an award-winning author and podcaster. She is the host of "I Should Be Writing," the longest-running writing podcast (established 2005), her novel Six Wakes was nominated for the Hugo and Nebula awards, and she is on the NaNoWriMo Writer's Board.
