# Install the Speakeasy Platform MCP server

This guide connects an AI client to the Speakeasy AI control plane. Platform MCP is available to every organization. The user needs a Speakeasy account and authorizes access in their browser. Their role determines which tools they may use.

Remote endpoint: https://ai.speakeasy.com/platform-mcp
Transport: Streamable HTTP
Authentication: OAuth 2.1 with browser sign-in

## Installation workflow

1. Identify the client and configuration scope. If the client is unclear, ask the user which one they want to connect.
2. Inspect existing configuration before editing. If the same server or plugin is installed, reuse it rather than adding a duplicate. Merge only the required entry; preserve other servers and settings.
3. Follow the client instructions below. Marketplace plugins include the reviewed Speakeasy skills. Direct MCP connections do not. Install for this user's account unless they explicitly request a project or team rollout.
4. Have the user complete browser authorization and choose their organization. Never ask for API keys, passwords, OAuth codes, or provider secrets in chat.
5. Verify with read-only calls to get_platform_context and list_projects. Report the connected organization and accessible projects. Do not create, modify, distribute, or delete platform resources as part of installation.

Only run shell commands when the client has terminal access and the user has requested installation. If installation requires settings in another application, give the user the exact steps. Do not claim success merely because a command or configuration was copied.

## Claude Code

Run in Claude Code

```bash
/plugin marketplace add https://github.com/speakeasy-api/marketplace
/plugin install speakeasy@speakeasy
```

Run /mcp, select Platform MCP, and choose Authenticate. To receive updates, open /plugin → Marketplaces → speakeasy → Enable auto-update.

### Direct MCP configuration

Merge this server into the client's MCP configuration. Other clients may require a different schema; keep the endpoint and use their documented format.

```json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "platform": {
      "type": "http",
      "url": "https://ai.speakeasy.com/platform-mcp"
    }
  }
}
```

## Codex

Run in your terminal

```bash
codex plugin marketplace add https://github.com/speakeasy-api/marketplace
codex /plugins
```

Find speakeasy-codex in the Speakeasy marketplace and install it for your account. Start a session and ask to list your Speakeasy projects, then complete browser authorization. Verify the CLI and desktop app separately.

### Direct MCP configuration

Merge into ~/.codex/config.toml.

```toml
[mcp_servers.platform]
url = "https://ai.speakeasy.com/platform-mcp"
```

## Cursor

Marketplace repository

```text
https://github.com/speakeasy-api/marketplace
```

In the Cursor dashboard for the team you administer, open Settings → Plugins → Import. Paste this URL, then install speakeasy-cursor for your account. Start an agent session and complete browser authorization on first use.

### Direct MCP configuration

Open Cursor Settings → Tools & MCP and merge this server into your MCP configuration.

```json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "platform": {
      "type": "http",
      "url": "https://ai.speakeasy.com/platform-mcp"
    }
  }
}
```

## Claude Cowork

Marketplace repository

```text
https://github.com/speakeasy-api/marketplace
```

As an organization admin, open Claude.ai → Organization Settings → Plugins → Add plugin → Sync from GitHub. Paste this URL, then install speakeasy for your account. Open a new Cowork session and authorize the connection.

### Direct MCP configuration

Create a custom remote MCP connector using the endpoint above and OAuth, then open a new Cowork session.

```json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "platform": {
      "type": "http",
      "url": "https://ai.speakeasy.com/platform-mcp"
    }
  }
}
```

## OpenCode

Run in your terminal

```bash
opencode mcp add
opencode mcp auth platform
opencode mcp list
```

In the add wizard, choose a remote server, name it platform, and enter https://ai.speakeasy.com/platform-mcp. Then authenticate in your browser and check the connection. This connects the MCP server without the reviewed skills.

### Direct MCP configuration

Merge into ~/.config/opencode/opencode.json.

```json
{
  "mcp": {
    "platform": {
      "type": "remote",
      "url": "https://ai.speakeasy.com/platform-mcp",
      "enabled": true
    }
  }
}
```

## Antigravity

Run in your terminal

```bash
agy mcp add platform https://ai.speakeasy.com/platform-mcp
```

Launch Antigravity with agy, run /mcp, and authenticate the platform server in your browser. This connects the MCP server without the reviewed skills.

### Direct MCP configuration

In Antigravity IDE, open MCP Servers → Manage MCP Servers → View raw config. Merge into mcp_config.json, then refresh the connection and authenticate. In the CLI, run /mcp to manage authentication.

```json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "platform": {
      "serverUrl": "https://ai.speakeasy.com/platform-mcp"
    }
  }
}
```

## Other clients

Remote MCP endpoint

```text
https://ai.speakeasy.com/platform-mcp
```

Add this endpoint to a client that supports streamable HTTP and OAuth. Restart the client if needed and complete browser authorization on first use. Direct connections do not install the reviewed skills.

### Direct MCP configuration

Merge this server into the client's MCP configuration. Other clients may require a different schema; keep the endpoint and use their documented format.

```json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "platform": {
      "type": "http",
      "url": "https://ai.speakeasy.com/platform-mcp"
    }
  }
}
```

## Verify and troubleshoot

After authorization, try this read-only prompt:

> Show my connected Speakeasy organization and the projects I can access. Summarize what is available without making changes.

In Claude Code, run /mcp, select Platform MCP, and choose Authenticate. In Antigravity, launch agy and run /mcp. For other clients, start a session and request your Speakeasy projects to trigger authorization. Restart the client if a newly configured server is missing. If authorization has expired, reconnect in the browser. If permission is denied, report it instead of attempting to expand access.
