Self-Taping Basics: How to Create Pro-Quality Audition Tapes

In this 3-session workshop, attendees will learn how to create pro-quality audition self-tapes. Designed for actors of all experience levels and equipment set-ups who want to deliver job-winning auditions, the workshop will focus on viewing and evaluating video submissions during sessions 2 and 3.

Best known as Leonardo DiCaprio’s sister in Django Unchained, Laura has acted in over 60 movies and TV shows including Kill Bill, Now You See Me, True Detective, Friends and recurring roles on Treme, Hot Date and Oprah Winfrey and Ava Duverney’s Queen Sugar.

Laura has authored several books including Know Small Parts: An Actor's Guide to Turning Minutes into Moments and Moments into a Career with foreword by Richard Dreyfuss and endorsements from Kevin Costner and many more. Her Charlotte Reade Mysteries are a love letter to New Orleans culture and lifestyle. Cayouette is also the author of Lemonade Farm, a coming-of-age novel set in a commune in rural Maryland in 1976. 

An award-winning filmmaker, Cayouette earned her Master's Degree in creative writing and English literature at the University of South Alabama where she was presented the 2014 Distinguished Alumni Award. She’s taught English and acting/directing at various universities and film schools from New York to Los Angeles.
