Bio

How do I become an artist? I have the talent, but I don't know how to navigate the music business. How do I get my song played on the radio? I'm having trouble getting noticed, how do I change that?

People interested in getting into music always ask Mina these questions and for years she has offered advice and information to up and coming artists. Throughtout her over 10 years of experience in radio programming, digital and on-air deparments, Mina has seen a lot of artists come and go. She has talked to them and heard their stories. She has spoken with managers and label representatives and has learned why things work out for some and not for others. She has witnessed what works and what doesn't. It has been Mina's job to know their journey and path and she has learned that every successful artist has had a different path, but some make the same mistakes.

So Mina decided to share her knowledge.  She has already been doing it for years.  She has offered advice to countless up and coming artists, managers, publicists, assistants, etc etc. People always tell her "you should do this full time, you are good at this." She's not leaving the music radio business anytime soon, but has decided to share her knowledge.

So why take advice from Mina? As mentioned, Mina has been in the radio industry for over 10 years.  She started off in the programming department as a music radio programmer. Music programmers pick the music that is played.  All music companies have music programmers. She was also on-air and hosted a new music show. Mina has always loved new artists and new music. This passion became her career.  She is no longer in the programming departement and she is only on-air, but she knows what music programmers look for when considering to play a song. Getting your song played on a major outlet can really propel your music career. These outlets will not just play any song, doesn't matter how good it is. There is basic criteria that a song must meet.  There is basic criteria that an artist must meet. Mina can help you with knowing what they are looking for.

If you are an up and coming artist, a manager, publicist, etc and want to know what you should be doing to get noticed and how to navigate the music business, join one of these "Mina Talks."
