Bio

Professor Roy Dean’s inspiring videos on YouTube have educated the public on the beautiful and deadly art of jiu jitsu. Dean’s martial education is well-rounded, holding first degree black belts in Kodokan Judo and Aikikai Aikido, and third degree black belts in Japanese and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.  Dean is recognized as a black belt by the International Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Federation (IBJJF), with affiliated academies around the world, and has written about his adventures in two books, "The Martial Apprentice" and "Becoming the Black Belt.”
